Jim and Carolyn Samson, Peterview, NL.
We are so sorry to hear of Marlene's passing, heaven has gained the most beautiful angel ever, she was one amazing and brave woman.
I remember the time she first met Bill and
we were at Aunt Bernice's at the time, and she said to us that he would never notice her because of her battles she was facing, even then, but we told her if he can see the beautiful person she was, inside and out, he would most certainly be interested.
Thank you Bill for seeing just how wonderful she was and for fulfilling her greatest dream of being married and having a beautiful family.
Marlene will be missed dearly and we pray there's so much comfort in knowing she's with Jesus and knowing the freedom of being without pain and suffering.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time and wish we were there to celebrate her life.
God Bless.

My deepest sympathies to the much loved family of my friend Marlene. I was truly shocked to hear of her passing.
We met when my family moved to Gander in 1978, and over the next 2 years we became great friends. Even as young teenagers Marlene had a tremendous impact on me, with her positive outlook and optimistic approach to everything. I believe she managed to see all the dreams she shared with me come true - especially that of marrying a wonderful man and having her own family.
Although it is too soon, Marlene has now reached her ultimate goal - to see Jesus.
Bill, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May you feel God’s presence surrounding you and feel His deep love.

Special thoughts and prayers for you all at this time. Marlene was a beautiful example of a woman with "grace and dignity"...loved her sense of humor and her ability to play an awesome "First Horn." May these words provide comfort and peace.
I'm a solider bound for glory,
I'm a solider going home,
Come and hear me tell my story,
All who love the Saviour, come.
Marlene loved her Saviour and she is now smiling and playing her horn.
Blessings, Fred and Lorraine Veysey

Even though I did not know Marlene well, her impact on her family and all who knew her is beyond measure. She was very much in our conversations with Heather and I cannot imagine the sorrow you are all feeling right now. This is a time to grieve and to allow family and friends in to bring comfort and support. May God the great Comforter draw alongside you and be your constant companion. You are all very much in our prayers.

What a shock to hear Marlene's sudden passing. Words cannot express my feelings right now. Marlene was such a blessing to everyone she knew. In spite of all that she went through, she never complained. She dearly loved her sweetheart Bill and her boys and she was proud of them. I talked with her a little while ago and she kept me up to date on everyone. Cal and I loved to visit her, Bill and the boys on our way home from holidays and there was always a delicious meal waiting for us and her baked goodies. She loved life, family, and friends but most of all her lord. Nothing she went through kept her down, when she couldn't play in the band anymore she took up the tambourine. She didn't have to die to get a good name, Cal and I and others always said she was a good girl. Marlene and Cal are now playing in the best band they ever played in and we will all meet them again, if we are faithful, in God's beautiful morning. Call on God's holy spirit to comfort and strengthen you, you are all in my thoughts and prayers, when you feel low in your spirit read 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 The God of All Comfort.
Love and Prayers,
Edna Way

To Marlene's family: Deepest sympathy on the passing of your loved one. Marlene was a teenager in Gander when we were the Corps Officers there from 1980 - 82. I remember her pleasant smile and her committment to her church activities. She was a faithful soldier and is now fully enjoying the presence of the Lord she so loved and served. May God bless you with His peace. (Major Melva Elliott, St. John's, NL).

We were so shocked to hear of Marlene’s passing. She has always overcome such heart wrenching obstacles in her life and I guess we were sure she would get through this one as well. She has always been a faithful warrior in everything in her life. We are blessed and know for certain, she is with her Lord and Master. She is probably baking , singing, dancing, seeing and walking as we are left behind to mourn her lost. How is it that we cannot but smile! Go rest on that mountain, my love, your work on earth is done! God has another beautiful angel!
Sending much love and prayers to you all.
