Scott MacLeod

I am the second generation owner of York Funeral Home, which has been an important part of the Fredericton North community since its establishment in 1979. Following in my father's footsteps and with many thanks to the families we have served over the years, we have built a good reputation in the Fredericton and surrounding area as a caring family business.

Following graduation from Fredericton High School in 1982, I began my training and apprenticeship as a funeral director and I have been a Licensed Funeral Director since 1985. I continue to be an active participant in the funeral service industry,advocating for the highest service standards as a board member of the New Brunswick Funeral Directors and Embalmers Board. I was honoured in 2005 by my peers on the New Brunswick Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association by being nominated to represent New Brunswick at the national level with The Funeral Service Association of Canada. From 2006 - 2010, I chaired the National Education Committee and from 2011 - 2012, I was the elected President of the Funeral Service Association of Canada. My participation at both provincial and national levels of the funeral industry assures the families who come to us that they will receive the highest quality of service and care from my entire staff at York Funeral Home.

On a personal level, my inspiration and support come from my family: Harmony, Doug, Kayla, Tom, Maggie and my wife Suzanne. I am very proud to have been part of the coaching staff at St. Thomas University, first as Assistant Coach of the STU Men’s Basketball team for fifteen years and then as the team’s Head Coach from 2016 - 2019. Coaching young adults and knowing you are making a positive difference in their athletic and personal lives has been a privilege I will continue to cherish.
