Obituary of John Beverly Johnston

The passing of John “Bev” Johnston, husband of Alice (Peter Paul) Johnston, occurred on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at York Care Centre in Fredericton, NB. Born in Newcastle, NB on April 13, 1940, he was the son of the late Fred and Jessie (Cain) Johnston. Bev had a curiosity for people and places. He and Alice lived in different regions of the United States and Canada before returning back to New Brunswick. Bev loved animals, gardening and was an avid reader. He was an open-minded and compassionate person with a good sense of humor.

In addition to his wife, Bev is survived by his children, Michael Green (Patricia) of Tucson, AZ, Wendy Green of Cleveland, OH, Joanne Johnston of New Maryland; siblings, Janice Mutch (Perry), David Travis (Tammy), Bruce Travis; sisters-in-law, Nancy Travis and Laura Travis; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Kelly Green; siblings, Larry Travis and Jack Travis.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Church Hall in Metepenagiag First Nation, 17 Saint Thomas Street on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or your local SPCA.
