I just learned of Greg's passing and wanted to extend my sincere condolences to Suzanne and the rest of the family. It's been many years since I last saw Greg and Suzanne (in the 1990's, I think) and reflecting back, way back to when I was in high school; it's amazing just how fast the years have passed. Suzanne was one of my (favorite) high school teachers and when she learned I was going to be an engineer, she introduced me to Greg in New Glasgow, NS. I remember asking him if engineering would be "hard" hoping he'd say: "No, it would be a breeze!" But he told the truth and said it was a very tough course but I'd make it if I persevered. Although I didn't like his answer at the time, it was the truth and I did get through. All of a sudden, that was half a Century ago! I hope Suzanne is doing well. I've thought of you often over the years and always appreciated the positive impact both you and Greg had on my life. With your early encouragement and support along the way, I finally set up my own company and, in part; it's thanks to you both for helping make this happen. All the very best from North Vancouver, BC.

Sue, I am recalling times of celebration in your home in Port Hawkesbury when Greg was always the smiling host looking after people’s needs. How I looked forward to the occasional dinner out when I was living in Halifax for the winter! We discussed all the world’s problems and if I remember correctly, we solved quite a few of them, haha. It was always a huge delight to have dinner and conversation with both of you. Greg was a dear man and you, Sue, are a dear friend. Love to you, Vicki, Thomas and Janet.

Sue, Vicki, Janet and Thomas - with our deep love for each of you, we extend heartfelt sympathy for your loss. We have fond memories of many good times together with our young families "back in the day". I think it all began with that infamous Halloween social at your house in Fredericton! You had some "interesting" neighbours! And Sue, also many fond memories of our all too infrequent time together with you and Greg as couples once the youngsters left the nest! Our paths crossed many times, both east and west, and each was good! Did Greg ever tell you the truth about our weekend "guys" hike out to Refuge Cove. The threat of hurricane should have stopped us, but as rational, sound thinking engineers, it didn't! Waking up in the stormy dark, in a tent fully surrounded by an unusually high and rising Fundy Tide, left us very little time to deploy that rational thinking and head for higher ground. There may have been a few things left behind in our haste!
Greg was a dear, beloved friend and role model. He exemplified steady faith, trust, integrity, capability and commitment, to family, friends, community, clients, and colleagues. Sharon and I will miss him. In his memory we have contributed to the India COVID relief fund, which will be quadruple matched and deployed to help many of the world's most vulnerable. With our love. Ken and Sharon Burrill

Dear Sue, Vicki, Janet, Thomas, Chris, Carol and families,
Our hearts are with you even though we can’t gather together as we would like.
Working in Tantallon, I was lucky to always get an invite to lunch on visits to NS and Greg would always act as if there was all the time in the world as we caught up on family news. On one occasion when I asked what the plans were for the rest of the day, he calmly mentioned heading back to NB, when I asked when, he just as calmly said we are on our way from here. I was floored because I know most road trips do not begin with leisurely lunches! But that was Greg.
May peace be with you.
Elaine

It was a privilege to know Greg. As a fellow engineer, we pooled resources and talents to complete many successful projects over the years. More importantly, however, was to know him apart from work - to know of his faith and to share it. Today I believe he is truly resting in peace. Praying God's blessings on all the family, as you walk this journey together.

Dear Sue, Vicki, Thomas, Janet, and all:
Mary and I were so sorry to hear via Anne Doyle of Greg's passing. He was a very fine man and we know that he will be dearly missed. Mary recalls well his visits to St Vincent's Nursing Home to visit his mother while I most fondly remember the time in 1992 when I bought an old 26 ft trimaran in Fredericton and called him to help me assess it.
Again our deepest condolences,

Sue, Janet and I wish to express our deepest condolences to you and the family on Greg’s passing. Greg took me under his wing as a greenhorn engineer at N&G and patiently taught me a great many things. He was one the most effective, efficient and practical engineers I have known and I was very fortunate to have had him as a mentor and friend. It is clear from his obituary the only other things he did better was being a husband, partner, father and grandfather. May he Rest In Peace.

My sympathies to you Sue and to Vicki, Thomas and Janet. It was with much sadness that I received the telephone call from Pat and Lydia informing me of Greg's death. He was my friend and my mentor. I fondly remember my first meeting with Greg in Fraser House at St. FXU where he was my prefect for my first year at St.FXU. I was 17, green as grass, and Greg was a mature 22 year old and a senior engineer in Fr. Bill Forgarty's department. I looked up to him. Several years later I had the pleasure of working with him at Stora. When I was laid off from there in 1994, it was Greg who invited me to an interview for a position with Neil and Gunter, a position of process engineer, which I held for 20 years. In that 20 years, we became good work and social friends. He had a wonderful infectious laugh and was always a gentleman. I will miss him, but I will remember him in my prayers often for his goodness. God bless you all! Leon
