PARKER, THOMAS CHARLES “CHUCK”
The passing of Thomas Charles “Chuck” Parker of Doaktown, NB, occurred on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born on December 2, 1957 in Doaktown, NB, he was a son of the late Sherman and Louise (McAnulty) Parker. Chuck grew up in a small town in New Brunswick surrounded by friends and family where he developed a love for hunting and fishing from a young age. At age 24, Chuck moved to Yellowknife where he spent 34 years building a successful career in varied fields of education, health care and aviation and developing many lasting friendships across the territory. Recently, Chuck returned to his hometown where he was able to pursue his many passions and was happy after a hard days work in the woods. He loved telling a good story, and was happiest when with his grandkids, for whom he braved cold Yellowknife winters each year. His patient nature, open heart and mischievous grin will be sorely missed by his family and all those who knew him.
Chuck is survived by his children, Melody Begg (Roshan), Patricia Oldfield (Jeffrey) and Marc Parker (Brooke Harris) and their mother Claudia Parker all of Yellowknife, NT; grandchildren Ryder, Sadie, Sawyer, Wesley and Maia; brothers Peter Parker (Susan) of Carroll’s Crossing and Lorne Parker (Anne) of Edmonton, several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are in the care of York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel. A Memorial Service will take place at Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Church, Carroll’s Crossing, NB on Tuesday, March 17th, 2020 at 2 pm with Rev. Roger Mitchell officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
