Life Legacy
The passing of Charles Joseph Allain of Douglas, NB, husband of Diane Mercier-Allain occurred on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Hospice House, Fredericton, NB. Born on February 12, 1960 in Dieppe, NB, he was the son of the late Abel and Yvonne (LeBlanc) Allain. Charles spent his last 16 years working at the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, where he was a Manager. He also worked as Manager of Museum Services at the province's Heritage Branch, Executive Director of Association Museums New Brunswick and as Director of the Moncton Museum. He dedicated most of his free time to the Cadet Movement, woodworking, music, travel and reading. Although busy with work and with hobbies, he always knew how to make time for his family.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his son, Philippe Allain; sister, Louise Lefort of Moncton, NB; nephews, Jacques Allain, Steve Perry and Kevin Perry; niece, Kiera Strang (Zack). Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Pierre Allain.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Mass will take place at Paroisse Sainte-Anne-des-Pays-Bas on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11 am with Father Shawn Daley as celebrant. Pallbearer for the service will be Cam Goguen; Honourary Pallbearer, Paul Smith. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to 333 Lord Beaverbrook Air Cadet Squadron; Air Cadet League of New Brunswick or Hospice House. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yokfh.com
