Obituary of Mary Dorothy McEachern
The passing of Mary Dorothy "Dora" Elizabeth McEachern, wife of the late John McEachern of Fredericton, NB occurred on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at York Care Centre, Fredericton, NB. Born in Covedell, NB on September 2, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Jacques and Marceline Breau. Dora enjoyed being in the community. She was a Pharmacy Technician at Devon Drug, a nanny for several years for Professor Toole at UNB and a "personal fitter" at Calps. She was a member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church where she spent over 70 years as a member of the CWL, a Minister of Hospitality and a Eucharistic Minister. Dora previously volunteered at York Care Centre for 16 years and belonged to the Swinging 60’s Dance Group.
Dora is survived by her grandchildren, Angela McEachern-Cameron, Christopher (Denise) McEachern and Melissa (Danny) McEachern-Clow; great-grandchildren, Cody, Joshua, Kaleigh and Chloe Elise; and several special nieces and nephews.
Dora was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Joseph (Emerson); sisters, Suzanne, Pauline, Emma, Lucille and infant Emma; brothers, Georges, James, Michel, Leandre, Jerry and Jeremie.
Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 2-4 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11 am with Father Monte Peters as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. George Cemetery, Covedell, NB on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 1 pm. Donations in remembrance of Dora may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
