Obituary of Skip Wardell

Skip left this world peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2015 in the arms of the love of his life, his beautiful bride, Jill Suzanne Haines. Skip was born in Yorkshire England on May 23, 1961 and moved to Canada at the age of 2. Skip was employed at C.F.B Gagetown as a civilian driver and instructor and he recently received a much deserved promotion. Along with his wife, Jill, he also leaves behind his beloved dog, Sammy and his family. His mother-in-law, Alice Haines; sisters-in law, Cathy Haines and Pam Haines; nieces, Clara, Sophie and Charlotte McNamee; nephews, Simon McNamee, Jesse and Matt Montandon; uncle Thomas and aunt Pearl Johnston; cousin and fishing buddy, Betty Johnston. He also leaves many cherished friends and co-workers in Fredericton, Halifax, Ontario and British Columbia. Skip was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Lena Wardell; brother, Mike Wardell; father-in-law, Keith Haines; nephew, Jonathan Montandon. There will be no visitation by request, a celebration of his life will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Franklin Curtis officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Chalmers Hospital Foundation or for all of those who knew and loved Skip can please do a random act of kindness for someone in Skip’s memory. The family wishes to thank the DECH oncology unit headed by Dr. Saleem Raza, awesome nursing staff, volunteers and social worker, Julie Doucet.
