Andrew “Andy” Waugh, age 52, of Fredericton, NB, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by family. Andrew went home to be with his Lord and Saviour after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on August 16, 1962 in Lower Saint Mary’s, NB, he was the son of Glenwood and Ruth Waugh. Besides his parents, Andrew is survived by his brothers, Richard, Cincinnati, OH and John (Pam), Fredericton, NB; sister, Luana (Mark) Dixon, Douglas, NB; three nephews, Geoffrey, Jeremy and Brandon; three nieces, Stephanie (Evan) Shanks, Julie (Johnny) Stevens and Mariel Dixon and great niece, Lily.
Andrew was a well known drummer and highly thought of in the gospel music community. Besides his love of music, Andrew was a passionate fan of Formula One racing and enjoyed his road trips. Andrew was recognized for 30 years of service with the Department of Supply and Services for the Province of New Brunswick.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 2 to 5 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11 am with Rev. Stephen Budd officiating.
