I worked with Graham through the Early Career Teacher Learning Program in ASD-W and then later at EECD. Graham was such an enthusiastic person - he was inspiring in his pursuit of engaging students and helping teachers. He was quick to share his love for his family and I'm so sorry to lose such an incredible educator.

I will never forget the impact Mr. Rich had on my life as one of his students for 2 years. The littlest things can have the biggest impact in your life, and what he had done for not only me, but the students and the community of Devon is an incredible testament of this principle.
He didn't just teach me. He inspired me to pursue my interest in Technology by lending his precious, finite time to give many of us in the DMS Tech/Cybersecurity/Audiovisual crew opportunities to explore our creative endeavors, be it through the CyberTitan Cybersecurity competitions or to help show to the Government how Devon and its students desperately need a better school, his commitment to inspiring and improving the lives of others through education was unwavering, and most important of all, i will never forget his spirit.
Every single day, despite his progressing condition, he would always show up to the technology lab with a warm smile, no matter what he was facing behind the scenes. He was always generous and caring, despite his serious commitment to safety in his workplace. He inspired those around him, and as he passes on to the aftermath, i wish my deepest condolences to his family and those to him: i can only imagine how terrible it must feel to have someone you love so much be taken away.
I am sure he is now resting peacefully in a better place.
And again, i will never forget what he has not only done to me, but to those around him. Fly high, Mr. Rich.

Graham was a great colleague and friend. In his time at Devon Middle, we shared many entertaining and meaningful conversations about education, parenting, and our backgrounds. He and I would often vent about various things we felt needed attention. When we passed one another in the hallway, we would typically remind one another how many classes were down and how many left to go. Then we would both chuckle. His smile was infectious and I appreciated his humour. He was always willing to lend a hand; whether it be to an adult or a student, but Graham’s heart was truly for the students. His absence will be felt in the hallways at DMS but his impact will be felt for a very long time. My thoughts are with Krista, the kids, his family, and anyone else who knew him and will feel his absence.

I am a student of DMS middle school and Mr rich was my tech/woodshop teacher. He was a wonderful teacher and person. He really enjoyed his job and was very supportive of everybody, I hope he knew how much everyone appreciated him. He was definitely one of the most dedicated and determined people I have ever met. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.

Mr Rich was the ideal teacher to me. He accepted everyone, their interests and gave a smile evrytime I entered the room. I was the odd one out, I made a pitch for a coding unit since I was the only student who preferred to learn how to code and design rather than woodworking. Thanks to this I like to think I was special to him. I made him a pacman game in the online coding studio Scratch, wrote a review of the course and went on to create variations of the game. I started learning python near the end of the year to do the same thing however I only got so far due to time restraints presented. He was the only teacher I had sign my yearbook and glad I did, his signature was the longest and most expressive of them all. I was really struggling in my middle school years and sowm days his smile was the only thing that kept me get through the day. Mr Rich, I don't know what I meant to you but you meant so much to me. The last time I saw you was at the Leo Hayes coffee house where you said hi. I could tell you weren't doing too well but I never imagined how fast it'd happen. My only regret is that I chose to wait until next coffee house to play my guitar because I'd I hadn't you would've heard the perfect song I was going to play in your last few weeks. I'm glad I could be in your last grade 8 class that you taught for your last full school year. Maybe someday I can use the code you taught me to talk to you one last time and show you everything I've done with my life. Sincerely with love, Lyn.

My deepest condolences. Graham and I worked quite closely at EECD, I valued his intelligence and passion for education, we had many great conversations of what the future of technology curriculum could be. I respected him greatly for going back to the classroom to share his knowledge and his passions and am very sorry to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sending my deepest condolences to the family paired with my love and prayers!
To me, Graham was “Mr. Rich.” Mr. Rich was so much more than just a teacher though. It was never about whether I understood binary numbers, ohms, or know how to name electrical parts like resistors and capacitors. It was about being in a safe space where I knew I was welcomed and cared about. Mr. Rich’s friendly smile and hellos in the hallway always made the worst days better instantaneously.
He saw me at my lowest even when I tried to hide it. It was during a very dark time he told me I should read the book “You are Special” by Max Lucado. This book was about seeing your worth in God’s eyes - realizing you are precious to the Creator of all things. By reading this book, I was reached in a way no one else could reach me. It touched me; made me smile when I never thought I’d see my smile again. I will never forget this.
His laugh was contagious and could be heard from several feet away. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to know him and am fortunate to have been blessed by his love and kindness. He saw me when so many people didn’t. I hope to be half the teacher Mr. Rich was. This picture sits in my classroom to remind me to be a shining light to my students each day as he was. He will will never be forgotten. Thank you for simply being you, Mr. Rich.

Sending our condolences, love and prayers to the Rich and Naugler family. We are heartbroken and grieve with you that Graham's battle with cancer has ended in this way.
I met and got to know Graham a bit when we were in Fredricton for Trudy and Matthew's wedding. From visiting with him, the lasting impression of Graham that will continue to live on with me is his warmth, friendliness, big smile and how funny he was.
Continuing to hold you all in prayer,
Bethany, Joshua, Tyler, Leah and Dylan Bartel

I was a student for him in my grade 6-7 years and I usually went to the woodshop at recess. I remember him always happy to be there but you had to be out at the end of recess so he could use the washroom. He was always happy to teach you how to use tools and help you during your projects. I always liked how he was straightforward and always told you his honest opinion. Mr. Rich was probably the best teacher I will ever have and he will be missed.

My sincere condolences to all of Graham's family as you learn to live life without his earthly presence. I had the privilege of meeting and working with Graham at EECD. As an educator, his passion for technology, as a mentor, and teacher gave him an opportunity to enrich the lives of many, including my grandson who attends DMS. Graham was a gentle, positive person who left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Very sad to hear of Grahams’s passing. I had the honour and pleasure of working with Graham at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. Graham was a wholesome man who wore his heart on his sleeve. A brilliant advocate who had many great ideas for tech in schools across the province. Graham spoke highly of his family and I am so sorry for their loss.
Rest in peace Graham. Gone too soon.

I worked across the hall from Graham at EECD. He was one of the best colleagues/mentors that I could have hoped for as a young teacher. It was clear that he had a passion for education, and people in general.
We only worked in the same building together for a year, but whenever we crossed paths, I was always left feeling so encouraged. I'm so happy that Graham made it back to classroom teaching. The students and staff at Devon Middle School were blessed to have him, and he will surely be missed, and thought of fondly, by those who had the pleasure to know him.

Graham and I grew up as cousins together and I have fond memories of hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa's pool together during Sunday lunches when his family was in town. The times when we have seen each other over the years he was always a great listener and an encourager. A great man of faith through some challenging times in his life, he is an example that our greatest legacy is Knowing Jesus and Making Him Known. I am grateful for seeing him in his last days and hearing his heart for God and his family and am grateful he is with His Father now enjoying fellowship with Jesus. Love to Krista and their kids.

I only had the opportunity to work with Graham for a little while at DMS, but while there he made a point of checking in with each teacher he walked by (and I was fortunate to be one of them). When in his orbit you were more than listened to, you felt heard.
Later, Matt & I have had the pleasure of working with his (and Krista's) daughters at Jean Coutu.
Truly a beautiful family inside and out. Our hearts go out to you all.

I was a student in Mr Rich’s tech class during my grade 7-8 school years at DMS (2021-2023). He was the nicest teacher I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He would always talk to his students and help us out, not only in class, but also outside of class. Everyday after school when I would walk to my parents car, Mr Rich would be working as the crossing guard. Everyday as I crossed the street, he’d engage me in discussions and ask me how I was doing. He even taught me a better method to serving in volleyball when he just so happened to be walking by the gym during tryouts. I was always a very anxious student, and he knew about it and would let me in his room at lunch to work on projects. He taught me so many things, and has made a very positive impact on my life. I will never forget him. He truly was one of the best people I have ever met. I give my condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in paradise.

Mr. Rich was always so supportive and inspiring. Very down to earth. My favourite memory of him happened in his art room during lunch. I walked in with a friend and said "high five!" to him. As he returned my gesture he asked "for what?" with an enthusiastic tone. I responded with "I'm failing X subject", I don't recall which one. I only remember his reaction. He cringed and lowered his hand saying "ooooh, shouldn't have high-fived that". The whole interaction took place within 2-3 minutes but had an imprint of a lifetime. He was always so encouraging.

Krista, Susanna, Elijah, Rebekah and Gabriella,
When I think of Graham, I am thankful for his encouragement to the Christ Central youth band, of which Janna was part.
Personally, I enjoyed chatting with Graham during set up, when Christ Central met at Ecole St. Anne. He was an encouragement to me. He was also happy to help out: I still remember a time a few years back when Graham helped me set up a home computer network.
Our whole family wishes to express our heartfelt condolences at this difficult time.

Even though I only knew Graham a short time at DMS, he has had such a great impact on my life. I keep thinking about when meeting him in the hallway, he always knew when I needed that extra boost of support and encouragement. He always took the extra few moments to check in with his colleagues. The way he interacted with our students made each one feel seen and appreciated. I was so very thankful to know that Graham knew Christ as his Saviour! My heart is glad that we will meet again just inside the Eastern gate. Krista and family, please know that Graham will not ever be forgotten at DMS. He has certainly left his mark in our school. May the God of all comfort give you peace that passes all understanding. Blessings, Sharon Adamson
