John loved walking his best friend DeeDee 3 to 5 times a day. He loved sitting out back and going in the pool. He was an amazing gardener. One year he grew his sunflowers about 14 feet tall. He was so proud of them. The last 17 years of his life were filled with so much fun. He was like my child. I took him everywhere with me. Vacations, the beach, fancy restaurants on his birthdays. The first time we brought him to a real restaurant, he was amazed that you pointed at an item on the menu. "And they bring you your food?" He asked. He had tons of friends from mine and my husband's work. He also volunteered for JDRM, Christmas Angels, and helped with the homeless. He was a very kind and sweet man.

I was a home care worker for Mary. ( Johns mom ) John did love to talk. John was very good to his mom. He would go get her groceries. If she needed anything and I was coming back for another shift that day. I would tell him I would pick up for you so you don’t have to walk. When he seen the extra mural nurses he would run and lock the door. I would have to go unlock the door to let them in. He used to think they were going to take her out of the house. RIP John. That is so sweet. He really loved his mother. We got him a plot right beside her. It should be sometime this summer. Thank you for the beautiful words

I was pleased to meet John when I worked at the bank. I knew we were related as his mother Mary’s mother Beulah and my grandmother Mae Cochrane were sisters. He would come into the bank with a big smile and state., “There is my cousin”. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations and am saddened to read of John’s passing. Thank you Tammy for being a real friend to John. He indeed was a kind and gentle soul

We are so Saddened to hear of the passing of Our Dear Friend, John. He was a great guy to know and came to our home here in Massey, Ontario, a few years back. He came with our daughter Tammy Golden and friend Chuck of many years. It was a lot of fun as we played a game outside called Ball toss, colored balls on ropes, very similar to playing horseshoe. John was very talkative and had a great personality, always smiling. It was summertime and John liked our dogs. We took walks and went to the lake. We had good times with John. He will truly be missed by many. He was much Loved as well for the great home of living with Tammy & Chuck and their fur babies... especially Dee Dee.. Rest in Peace Dear John <3 From: Kathy & Wayne Golden, Massey, Ontario <3
