So glad we were able to view the service and want to express our condolences and love to Sis. Shirley and all the family. We have precious memories of Bro. Vinnie in our 'Saint John days.' His faithfulness in going to early morning prayer, every morning before going to work, and attending every service, are among many other wonderful memories. The Welcome Mat was always spread in front of their door and fellowship was sweet. May the Peace of God cover you, and His Spirit Comfort you all in the days ahead. Love - The Bustards.

What a privilege to know such a kind, gentle man with a heart of gold. I will never forget his smile and caring ways. He always took the time to share a story or advice and valued time spent with family and friends. I am forever grateful for the loving Father & Papa he was to his family and for raising one of the most beautiful lady that I know and admire who is the most amazing Grandmother to my son Dallas. Forever in our hearts.

Dear Shirley and Family,
I am forever grateful to you & Vinnie (as was my dear mother) for welcoming me into your home and family at an age of near 17 years old; a time when we needed help while the crooked paths were being made straight. My mother held you both with love and esteem, as do I.
I remember that Vinnie never missed an opportunity to speak of the Lord, and we spoke often. It seemed that most conversations with Vinnie usually ended with the Lord, often started with the Lord, and included the Lord in between:-).
I know that he was a dedicated employee, husband, and father; proud of all his children. I believed him and saw him to be a man of faith in Jesus Christ. The photo of seeing Vinnie kneel in prayer is very familiar to me as I saw it often during my short time with them.
I am, overall, so very grateful to God for hearing a 9 year old girl's prayer in Hatfield Pt of wanting Christ to be Lord of her life, and how he used you and Vinnie to fulfill His purposes in helping to bring me along. I cannot thank you enough for your prayer and for your love.
My heart has been so saddened that Vinnie is no longer among us and that Shirley has been left without him. But I am overjoyed that he knew the Lord, trusted Him for salvation, and now has entered the presence of the Lamb!
My husband, Gary, offers his sincerest condolence.
Sincerely with love,
Lorna (MacLean) Perkins

Our memories of Vinnie and of his sweet wife, Shirley go back a number of years, but they are good memories. They were definitely people of influence in our lives in our early years at the Mark Drive Church in Saint John. We remember them as warm, caring, given to hospitality and a couple you could count on to pray. Sending our condolences, and praying for the continued comfort of God’s Spirit in the days ahead.

Each memory of almost 4 decades of knowing Vinny & Shirley Calhoun, (and family) are ALL centered around Jesus, the Church & Kingdom of God. It was ALWAYS a blessing to share company no matter which city or country I was in.
What a rich heritage and fond memories he leaves with us. Though saddened for our sorry, I can’t help feel excited & pleased with his promotion & reward. We’ll all see you shortly.
May the Presence & Peace of Jesus be with you.
