Obituary of Martha Joan O'Donnell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martha “Sis” Joan O’Donnell of McNamee, at the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home on August 5, 2022. Born June 8, 1942 in McNamee, NB, she was the daughter of the late Perley and Lethia (Driscoll) O’Donnell.

Martha is survived by her children, Dawn, Lyndon (Laurie), Ledwick (Kelly) and Daphne; grandchildren, Justin, Forest, Ashton, Emily, Lacey, Addyson and Zarya; brothers, Allen (Irma), Cleveland (Trish); sisters, Juanita (Ernest), Yvonne (Haviland), Euphemia, Carlotta (Hank); sisters-in-law, Velma and Joan; brother-in-law Gilbert (Carol).

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William “Billie” O’Donnell; brothers, Melvin “Mel” and Lawrence.

Martha’s family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Central New Brunswick Nursing Home who provided her with exceptional care and kindness during her final days.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel. A Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 5-7 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from St. James the Greater Anglican Church, Ludlow, NB on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 2 pm. Interment will be in St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Carroll’s Crossing. Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Diana Lyons, Betsy O’Donnell, Caroline Swazey, Glorna Morehouse, Gail Clowater, Marina O’Donnell, Darrell O’Donnell, Brenda O’Donnell, Sandra O’Donnell, Irma O’Donnell and Carl O’Donnell.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home, the Anglican Parish of Ludlow and Blissfield, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
