Obituary of Deborah Ann DeMerchant
DEMERCHANT, DEBORAH ANN
June 10, 1948 – June 1, 2022
Deb went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Jim and Rose (Arbeau) Comeau.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert “Bob” DeMerchant; their son, Jeffrey “Jeff” DeMerchant; brother, Andrew “Andy” Comeau (Debbie); nephews, Dana Arnold and Michael Comeau; niece, Theresa Comeau, (Robin Price); special cousins/brother, Kimberly “Kim” Geikie (Joan); aunt, Kay Robichaud; several cousins; her life long friend, Susan Duplacey and her fur baby, Calli.
Deb was a registered nurse, having trained at The Moncton Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at the Oromocto Public Hospital, The Forest Hill Rehab Centre and Department of Health, Medicare Branch. She was an active member of Nashwaaksis Baptist Church and enjoyed time spent with the Coffee House, Bible studies and Helping Hands. A generous and kind person, she crocheted countless prayer shawls, prayer cloths and lapghans for those who were sick or in mourning and preemie hats for the NICU. She gave regularly to the Food Bank.
Thank you to the paramedics, Dr. Barton and the nurses and staff who took such good care of Deb.
A Celebration of Deb’s life will be held at Nashwaaksis Baptist Church, 104 Edgewood Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 2 pm with Pastor Chris Bennett officiating. Interment will take place at Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish to make a donation, we suggest the Nashwaaksis Baptist Church, Fredericton SPCA or the Food Bank.
