Dear Vanessa, Rick and Darren;
I was so sorry to hear about your Mom’s recent passing. Thelma was always so easy to love and be with; we shared many joys and sorrows through the years and she could bring a positive note to any situation. I have had so many memories of her this week! I missed my Christmas visit this year but we chatted on the phone and talked about having a visit. I never for a minute thought that she wouldn’t be there; in my mind she was never much older than I am.
Thelma will always have a special place in my heart and I’m so glad she was a friend.
Your Mom loved every one of you and was so proud of what you’d all accomplished; she always had stories to tell me about all of you and her beloved grandchildren.
I’ll be thinking of you during this sad time.

Vanessa and Family, You don't know me but I am Harold Austin's younger sister and I knew Thelma and Lloyd from our school days. Harold and Lloyd were best friends and they had many fun times together. Thelma was very patient with the two of them but the three of them were very close to one another. My sincerest condolences to Darren and his family. After working the better part of 4 decades with Darren, I had the privlidge of meeting Mom and Dad. Your Mom should be nominated for a Life Time Acheivement Award. Right Darren ! Very kind folks.
Thank god that Darren inherited his Moms Good looks. Most likely saved his rear end a few times since he has Lloyd ability to seek out the hellish. I sure that the family will cherish all their memories. It is easy to see that Mom loved her family.

Mrs. Demmings was truly one of the nicest people I have ever known. She was always happy to see us, and always had a big batch of cookies ready to go! I am pretty sure she always knew when we were ditching school as well (I still sneak past libraries to this day). I feel that she is looking down on us and wishing us to be all we can be, because that is who she was.
