Obituary of Florrie Alma Schlosser
Florrie Alma (McLean) Schlosser 1934 - 2022
It is with deep sorrow that Florrie’s children announce her peaceful passing on April 9, 2022.
Born and raised in Tabusintac, NB, Florrie was fiercely proud of her rural roots and full of stories of a warm and loving childhood. She devoted her life to education and derived tremendous joy from her students at various schools throughout the province including Tide Head, Sunny Corner and, in the Fredericton area, St. Dunstan’s, Connaught Street, Park Street, Smythe Street and Douglas Elementary. She instilled in her children a passion for learning and a sense of responsibility to their community. Florrie was an avid volunteer - canvassing for various charitable organizations, active in the UCW at Nashwaaksis United Church and a dedicated member of the NB Society of Retired Teachers.
Florrie was a woman of immeasurable faith, a supportive wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, caring sister and exceptional human being. A teacher to the end, her lessons of courage, resilience and grace in the face of hardship will live on in those blessed to have known her.
Florrie was pre-deceased by her husband of 46 years, James Schlosser, parents Leslie and Marguerite McLean, brothers George and Carman McLean and sister Lenore Flett. Left with wonderful memories are her children Dale (Carolyn) of Toronto, Pamela (Dean) of Yellowknife, grandchildren Erin, Jillian, Matthew and J.J. Schlosser, and Ally and Mia MacInnis, a brother Walter MacLean, and several nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held at the Nashwaaksis United Church on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 11:00 am., The family request that all attending to please wear a mask.
