Obituary of Martha Ellen Ryan

RYAN, MARTHA ELLEN

It is with deep sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Martha Ellen Ryan of Nashwaak Bridge, NB.  Martha was born in Zionville on September 16, 1943.  She was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Greta) Ross.

Martha was deeply loved by her family and friends.  Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She loved spending time with each one of them.  She was an avid knitter and loved selling her craft at the local community market.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion Beaverbrook Branch # 80 for many years. 

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frederick Ryan of Nashwaak Bridge; sons, George (Nancy) and Melvin (Lise); daughter, Christine (Gerry); daughter in law, Fay; grandchildren, David (Lexi), Alex (Margaret), Jeffrey (Melissa), Amy, Bridgette (Kyle), Chandler and Samantha; great grandchildren, Beau, Wyatt, Aurora, Wallace, Lucy, and Sawyer; brothers, Doug, Barry (Carol), Danny (Sue Ellen); sisters, Myrtle (Bill), Georgina, and Jeannie (Chris); and many nieces and nephews.

Martha was predeceased by her son, Wally; brother, Robert (Bob); and sister-in-law, Eileen.

Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  Those attending the visitation must provide proof of vaccinations as well as government issued ID.  Masks will also be required.  Service and committal will take place in the Nashwaak Bridge Community Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
