Mary Jane Richards donated to The New Brunswick Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals / Société protectrice des animaux du Nouveau-Brunswick
Wednesday, February 9, 2022
Dear Anne, Peter, Tina, Rhys and Andrew, I offer my sincere condolences on the death of your mother. I know many of you love animals so not knowing your mother's preferences (other than to have a nice glass of beer which I heartily support) I have donated to the SPCA in her memory. I salute her long and productive life. Love and best wishes, Mary Jane

Tina, Rhys, Anne, Peter and Andrew,
My most sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom, whom I met and got to know when I was a very small girl. Your parents shared many fine times with mine through those years of my growing up in Bath, NB in the 60s. I had occasion to visit her a few times in her home in Fredericton and would 'bump' into her from time to time on one of my mall crawls. She was always smartly dressed and spritely stepping. She, your Dad, and so many colleagues of Dad and friends of him and Mom will be remembered with fondness and a smile.
Dot would want us to smile and raise a glass. So let's do that.
Best

Dear Anne and Family,
I send love and support during this difficult time. I truly feel that your mom is in good hands and has been welcomed by your dad and brother.
Anne, I remember the good advice you gave me in 2014. You asked "Have you laughed today?". This advice has carried me through difficult times and I am returning this same good advice to you.
I am thinking of you all. My deepest sympathy.
Love, Janice xo

To Tina. My condolences on your Mother's passing. I did not know your Mom, but I got to know your Dad quite well in the late 1960s. Ed was a swell man. I was also at Nicky's funeral in Stanley all those years ago.

Rhys, Tina and families, My deepest sympathy on your Mom's passing. I grew up on the Glen Road hearing heartwarming stories of you Mom's kindness to my mother, Cora and her sister's, Rita and Ina. They were so excited when, as teenagers, your Mom gave them their first pair of "real nylons". A lovely lady who has left many fond memories, Gwen

A beautiful life so well lived! While I was saddened to read of Dot's passing, I immediately began recalling all of the stories that Mom had shared about their times together. Most often Mom would have trouble completing the story because she would be laughing so hard! I hope these same stories will bring you all comfort as you move on. With fond memories and warm thoughts for you...Cynthia Urquhart

Tina, Rhys, Anne, Peter, Andrew and your families:
It is with great sadness that I have learned of your Mom’s passing. In decades past I truly enjoyed her company, at their home off Hanwell Road, and that of your Dad as well. What a wonderful couple. I am sure Dot was the consummate Grandmother as she was the Mother. She was always busy, full of life, cared so much for family and friends and enjoyed a great sense of humour. I can hear her laugh whenever I called her ‘hot Dot’, my particular greeting. These moments in life are very very difficult to contend with so grieve her passing but do remember and cherish all the great times, the celebrations, the gatherings and acknowledge a long life, well lived by a fabulous lady......Hot Dot, RIP.

From Mom: Dot was a beautiful lady in every sense of the word. We enjoyed a lot of laughs and good fun during the Stanley years, visiting back and forth and driving to Fredericton for some shopping. The Edsel caused us to be hit with gales of laughter when it wanted to reverse only. Good times which live in my memory. Dolly McAloon

Dot Reynolds stood out equally in a room full of dignitaries or in a shopping mall. Her quiet dignity and unique smile, combined with a wonderful sense of humor, just made all of us want to be more like her. She set an example, a standard for being an outstanding wife, mother, grandparent, friend. Her very special family includes all of us who were blessed to know and love her.

To The Family:
I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Reynolds at her home on Douglas Avenue when I installed her Lifeline several years ago. I would go for follow up service calls and we always sat and had a wonderful visit. She would also tell me that she didn't need her Lifeline but before my visit was over, she would tell me she was okay with it!
She shared many stories of her family life when she lived in Stanley and was so thankful for all the help she was given in Fredericton, which allowed her to stay in the home she loved as long as possible. She had beautiful flower gardens and gave me lots of gardening advice!
Thinking of you all at this very sad time, she was a truly remarkable lady.
Sincerely,
Maria Pugh
