Obituary of Gladys Elsie Stephens
With sad hearts the family of Gladys Elsie Stephens of Fredericton N.B. announces her passing on January 5, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born March 22, 1927 in Amostown, N.B. she was the daughter of the late Richard and Vilda (Clowater) Amos. Gladys worked at the Daily Gleaner in the University Press Department and later at The University of New Brunswick in the Chemical Engineering Department. Religion played an important role in her life. She was a member of the
Predeceased by her husband, Alleyne Stephens of Douglas N.B. on December 8, 2001, Gladys is survived by her sons, Mitchell Stephens (Lisa) and Richard Stephens (Karen); Grandchildren, Terry Stephens, Todd Stephens, Kirk Stephens, Chelsey Serpe, Christine Stephens and Heather Angka; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Sarah, Jordan, Nicholas, Matthew, Hayden, Franco, Paolo; and six great-great-grandchildren. Also, survived by sisters, Eva Ward (Vingie), Marilyn Hovey, Donna Munn (Willard), Edna Carson (Donnie), Sharon Flowers; and brothers, Otto Amos (Shirley), Haviland Amos (Shirley), Arnold Amos (Pat) and Wayne Amos (Diane). In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Alice Robinson; and brothers, Percy Amos and Elwood Amos.
