Obituary of Donald Wayne O'Donnell

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Wayne O’Donnell of McNamee, NB announce his passing on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the age of 72 after a strong and courageous battle with a prolonged illness. Born in Bettsburg, NB on March 18, 1949, he was the son of the late Johnston and Vina (Lyons) O’Donnell. Donald was able to stay at home with his loving wife of 53 years, Sheila (Beek) O’Donnell and his children. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and crib.

 

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Melissa (Troy) of Storeytown, NB; sons, Turney (Sonya) of Storeytown, NB and Johnston (at home); as well as grandchildren, Catlin (Tiffany) of Fredericton, NB, Dalton (Megan) of Bloomfield Ridge, NB, David (Marissa) of Doaktown, NB and Madison of Storeytown, NB; great-grandchildren, Jack, Isla and Henry; siblings, Richard (late Peggy), Frederick (Rose) and Velma (late Lawrence); sister-in-law, Gail. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and extended family.

 

Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his siblings, Nathan (Edna), Cyril (Ivy), Jimmy, David (Vera), Christina (Willard), Henrietta (Lloyd).

 

A Graveside Service will be held at St. James the Greater Anglican Church Cemetery, Ludlow, NB on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 11am with Rev. Neil Osiowy officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations or memorials may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
