Obituary of Richard Rodney Chase

The passing of Richard Rodney Chase of Fredericton, NB, occurred on June 18, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born on June 22, 1965 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Richard and Rena (Meunier) Chase. R ick loved building things around the house, restoring old items for that brand new finish. He was always the one to make people laugh, bring smiles to the faces of others who needed it the most. Jazz music provided him comfort in his most stressed times, feeling the passion and heart that comes from the music gave him strength. We will always know him to have a heart of gold.

Richard is survived by daughters Holli Rigden of Dartmouth, NS and Hannah Sears (Tyler) of Halifax, NS; son, Alex Gilliatt of Grand Manan, NB; sister Judy Carrier of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren Kailie, Ashley and Florence. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Patricia Woods and Tammy Chase.

A public visitation will take place on Wednesday June 23, 2021 at Smythe Street Church, 913 Smythe Street, Fredericton, from 11am to 1 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm. Interment will take place in the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery.
