Please share a memory of Warren to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Warren Elwood Mitchell on Thursday, April 29, 2021, in the presence of his children, Lorie and Jamie.  Born on April 10, 1931 in Devon, NB, he was the son of the late William and Hildred (Savage) Mitchell.  He married Zelda (Richard) in 1951, and they spent many great years together, until her passing in 2000.

Warren is survived by his children, Lorie Kendrick (Michael) and Jamie Mitchell (Tanya); grandchildren, Tyler Kendrick (Tammie), Katie Corey (Zac), Christopher Mitchell (Morgan), Derek Mitchell (Sofia), Ashley Mitchell (Tyler); great grandchildren, Katrina, Brandon, Jenna, Emma, Cali, Macy and Elliot; also survived by his siblings, Mae Johnson (late Donald), Shirley Saunders (late George) and Merville “Mert” Mitchell (Gail); sisters in law, Alice Meehan and Gwen Mitchell; brother in law, Pat Riley; several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents and wife, Warren was predeceased by his siblings, Gertrude Davidson (Joe), Geraldine Crawford (Gib), Millard Mitchell (Marion), Murray Mitchell (Annie), Irvine Mitchell (Marjorie), Helen Riley, Faith LaPointe (Bill), William “Billy” Mitchell and Dale Mitchell.

Warren loved to laugh and was rarely seen without a smile on his face and a story to tell you.  Although Warren had many jobs throughout his ninety years, his favourites were, driving the bread truck for Lane’s Bakery, GE Barbour INC. in Fredericton, where he was the General Manager, and Maritime Products in Marysville.  He was a member of the UCT.  He loved driving, and drove cars for various dealerships in Fredericton, until recently.  Retirement didn’t suit Warren, he loved to stay busy.  Warren loved curling, snowmobiling, and travelling with his beloved wife, Zelda.  He was a charter member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Marysville, NB.  He was a kind and loving man who will be missed by all.

The family on behalf of Warren would like to thank Dr. Tom Barry, Dr. Baird and Abby from Extra Mural for their wonderful care and compassion.

As per Warren’s request, there will be no funeral.  A Private Family Graveside Service will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery with Father Monte Peters officiating.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences, stories and photos may be shared through www.yorkfh.com
