I didn't know Gilbert but over the years, I often heard Grant and Cathy talk about him. Their stories were always full of love and so much humor and made me feel that I knew Gil and his family. I am so very sorry to hear about his passing. You are all in my prayers.

Nancy and family,
So sorry to read of Gil's passing. From time to time I think of you and wonder how and where you are. Nancy, you were such a kind person to Shaun at the Lake Fletcher Nursery School. And, it was always so nice to catch up when the McKinnons would have their annual Christmas party and to see you and Gil. Please know we are thinking of you during this difficult time.

Gil took me ‘under his wing’ when I arrived as a young graduate student at University of Guelph in 1970. We had many field trips together and I remember Timmy joining us in his car seat. Gil and I shared a few beers together as we talked about our futures. Joan and I visited with Gil, Nancy and family in Nova Scotia but lost touch when we returned to BC. We have many fond memories of Gil and Nancy and how they made a large impression on our early lives. Gil worked so hard as a grad student in order to build a successful career and was very devoted to his family. Please accept our condolences.

Condolences to all of Gil's Family, I had the pleasure of working with him at DFO, when starting a career in early 1990's. He was held in great respect by all! We often had chats on recreational activities and again he shared many words of wisdom. Saddened to hear of his passing.

Nancy, Christine, Tim, and Family,
We were shocked to read of the passing of our friend and former neighbour, Gil. Our memories of your whole family still linger in our hearts. Santa Claus at Christmas was a favourite. Gil was such a wonderful husband and Father. We missed you when you moved to Fredericton. I regret that our communications waned after your move. I cannot think of a family that I admired more. Gil, you were a champion in all aspects of your life. Nancy you and Gil were endearing hosts and we came away from every visit with a smile on our face. Gil loved his children and was very proud of their achievements. I always remember Gil as being a bit shy but full of life. When I read of his accomplishments, I was truly honoured to have made his acquaintance. I probably watched him play hockey for the “Marlies” in the old Hamilton Forum against the Junior Red Wings. Such a humble and kind gentleman, we will miss knowing that he is no longer with us.
Please let me know when the celebration of his life will be held. I would not want to miss that.
Once again, Coline, Matthew, Jono, and Robert will grieve his passing and it will take some time to come to grips with your loss.
God Bless the Farmer Family we will never forget you,
Sending our sincerest condolences at this, the time of your loss,
Robert, Coline, Jono, and Dr. Matt’s family in Delta BC.

Our deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband Gilbert. I remember when he used to go for walks down past our home here on Howe Ave. in “Schwarzwald Subdivision “ Fall River. I also remember Tim who used to deliver our newspaper to us and was always so pleasant. I see where you moved to New Brunswick from here, lots has changed here in our Subdivision since you left. As you can tell we are still here after 41 years, we keep talking of selling but do not know where we would like to go. Joe turned 90 March 12 th. We will be here for awhile yet. God Bless all your family, take care. Annetta and Joe Cripps, Fall River, N. S.

Dear Gil, I hope that you always knew just how loved you were: by your family, friends, and especially by your cycling buddies. We had so many adventures together on two wheels: in Fredericton, and other NB locations, and especially in Croatia. You were always encouraging, always looking forward to the day's adventure. We will miss you, your smile, your enthusiasm, and your kindness.
Love Johanna and Bruce
