Bev and family,
We were so saddened by the news of Don’s passing. We were so fortunate to have Don and Bev as neighbours for close to 7 years. Perhaps the luckiest of our family was our dog Tex. He made daily trips to visit his best buddy Don through the woods next door. And always got a treat for his long voyage.
The day we had to put Tex down, Don came over to pay his respects and see his old buddy one last time. It was one of the fondest memories I have of Don.
It truly spoke to his kind and caring nature! He was one of the nicest and likeable people we have ever met. We will miss him and his infectious smile! He truly will be missed by many
Love the Marsh Family

Beverly and family, please accept my deepest sympathy. I had the pleasure of working with Donnie during the early years of my career. He was a well respected police officer and an honourable man. He loved his family and spoke of them often, and with pride. He had a great sense of humour; I can still hear his wonderful laugh. May his memories be a comfort.

Beverly, Sarah, Emily and family we are so saddened to hear about the passing of Donnie. It was so wonderful to see him at the veterans breakfast in Fredericton over the last few years ...that was a gift and we thank you for making sure he was able to make the trips up. Both Sara (McElman) and I have such fond memories of Corporal “Donnie” Hobbs... a fellow Devonite...we want you to know that Donnie always treated us kindly and with the greatest of respect. He was one of my (Leanne’s) first Corporals when I started back in the mid-80s. He always treated people we served with such kindness. As I know you can appreciate there weren’t many women on the police force at that time and your husband/dad was always a treasure to work for. I know we don’t have to tell you he was a very special and kind man. It is no surprise to us that he had two daughters who followed in his footsteps. May this good servant rest in peace and that you all take comfort in knowing how many lives he made a great difference in by his humble and quiet ways. To this day I can still hear his chuckle and see the twinkle in his eye.. Blessings and peace to you all, kindest wishes Leanne Fitch and Sara Mcelman.
