Sending deep condolences to Barbara and family on the passing of this good man. Elwood was a first cousin to my Father, James Amos. He worked in my Dad's logging camps in his earlier years and came often to our house for visits.
I particularly remember watching him play hockey for the Doaktown Mounties. He was a fierce competitor and a natural athlete. He was very good in Goal or out on the ice as a Defenceman and the opposition teams always hoped he would be the goalie rather than the bone crushing defenceman they would have to face. As young lads we would hang out in the parking lot when the opposing teams would be unloading their gear and hear them saying, "Oh God, I hope he's in net tonight and not on defence."
Elwood had a positive impact on my life and will be missed. Blessings on all who loved him.

SORRY to learn of Elwood passing .as a young boy my Dad sit and explained to me why. Elwood was Deaf and how he could read lips and sign .(talk with his hands) that skill was Magic or i though so as a 5-6 year old..fast forward to minor hockey one winter on the outdoor rink we had a father/son game Elwood was the Goldtender for the Dads team..and it was fun ,and in his way kept all of us entertained. If one got to close to him in crease he would grab you and put you in the net behind..and he was big and no escape until he let you go. Fast forward to my years working in Moncton at Lounsburys a Coworker was a friend of Elwoods they had gone to Deaf school together the stories he shared of travel to Doaktown and their friendship are special .Hugs to all the Family Marshall

I have many memories of growing up with Elwood as a boy in Amostown. We got to know one another well as the seasons changed and as we trecked through woods, waded brooks, and skated the river as young lads. There are fishing escapades to remember, hunting stories to entertain, and woods working experiences to reminisce about now in my adult years. There are also the many talks we shared as we happened upon one another along the river in later years. Elwood was my very good friend, and I will miss him very much. With warm memories of you, Leslie Amos.
