Obituary of Lesper Delmonte Bragdon

The passing of Lesper Delmonte Bragdon of Fredericton, NB, husband of Diane (Liston) Bragdon, occurred on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Hospice Fredericton.  Born on April 23, 1939 in Hartfield, NB, he was a son of the late Maurice and Luella (Stairs) Bragdon.   

In addition to his wife of 56 years, Lesper is survived by his children, Chris Bragdon (Adonica), Greg Bragdon (Erika), Lynn Tranquilla (Desmond) and Joel Bragdon (Fiona); cherished grandchildren, Kyle, Ethan, Josh, Sarah, Daniel, Erica, Brynn, Lilly, Emmett, Ella and Davis; sisters, Macie Hopkins (Ross) and Vera Woodward; brother, Gary Bragdon (Debbie); and several nieces and nephews. 

 Besides his parents, Lesper was predeceased by his granddaughter, Lauren Marie Tranquilla; brother, Ersel Bragdon; brother-in-law, Raymond Woodward; and nephew, Alex Bragdon.  

Lesper worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia for 14 years and the Provincial Government for 29 years.  After retirement he actively volunteered with various prison ministries, the Village of Hope and singing with his friends at the seniors homes. 

Lesper faithfully attended church most of his life with a servant’s heart and a true love of God.  He had a special relationship with every member of his family, and enjoyed sharing holidays, birthdays and vacations.  He loved spending time with family at the camp and cooking for all to enjoy.  He provided many good meals for various organizations and occasions.  

Due to current public health restrictions, a private family visitation will take place at York Funeral Home. The Funeral Service by invitation only will take place at Hope City Church, 429 Clements Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 2 pm with Rev. Joseph Beesley officiating.  The service may be viewed on Hope City Memorials Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/HCMemorials.  Interment will take place in the Pickard Merrithew Cemetery, Keswick, NB at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Fredericton (Palliative Care Resource Network) or to The Village of Hope.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
