Obituary of Shirley Pearl Carnahan
The passing of Shirley Pearl Carnahan of Fredericton, NB, wife of Ray Carnahan occurred on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 12, 1955 in Oromocto, NB, she was the daughter of the late Chester Vibert and Dorothy (Banks) Hayes. Shirley will be remembered for her infectious laugh, love of life and family, her open kindness, and her amazing caring way that touched many lives. Shirley loved all animals and had horses and her own riding stables for years, she also enjoyed decorating and shopping. She was a beautiful singer and sang in the church choir. Shirley was a school bus driver and finished her career driving a special needs bus that brought her great joy.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by her children, Danny (Jenna), Matthew and Laura (Crystal); grandchildren, Emma Hallett and Farrah Brewer, Jayden and Brantley Carnahan; siblings, Carla Ross, Diana Campbell, Janice MacDougall, Tammy Bilodeau, Jason and John Hayes; several nieces and nephews; special cousin and friend, Colleen Morrison.
Due to the current health issues Covid Restrictions will be in place, Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Celebration of Shirley's Life will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel by invitation on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 2 pm with Rev. Chris Bennett officiating. The service will be Live Funeral Webcast at www.yorkfh.com Interment will take place in Blissville Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Fredericton SPCA. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
