Obituary of Lois Jean Sandwith
It is with great sadness that the family of Lois Jean Sandwith (n. Barnet) of Kingsley, NB, announces her passing after a brief illness on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the age of 78 years.
Lois will be lovingly remembered by her son, Neill Sandwith (Vicki) of Kingsley, NB; three grandchildren, Leigha Beckwith (Robert) of Royal Road, NB; Lauren Sandwith (Brett Barrett) of Grand Bay, NB; and Scott Sandwith of Kingsley, NB; four great grandchildren, Aurora, Grey, Jett, and Stevie; brother, Ross Barnet (Kathy) of Hamtown Corner, NB; sister, Kathy Graham (George) of Rothesay, NB; sister in laws, Freda Henderson of Fredericton, Hepsey Edgar (Richard) of Fredericton, Areta Trail of Fredericton, Sandra Gilby (Earl) of Keswick Ridge, Helen Parker (Daniel) of Fredericton, and Nancy Sandwith of Douglas; special friend, Donald Johnson of Central Hampstead; and several nephews and nieces.
Lois was predeceased by her husband, John Sandwith; brothers, Dale Barnet, and Danny Barnet; sister in laws, Evelyn Grant and Ethel Burlock; brother in laws Malcolm Sandwith, Eldon Henderson, Fred Trail and Billy Grant.
Lois had a long successful civil service career with the Province of New Brunswick, that she loved and spent many years volunteering for organizations such as the New Brunswick Fairs and Exhibitions, the Kingsley Silver Tops, UCW, the Kingsley United Church, Algonquin Properties, the New Brunswick Draft Horse Association and was a life long director (38 years) of the Canadian Belgian Horse Association. During her retired years, you could find Lois at musical events and dances with Donnie, at horse shows or out in the yard gardening. Lois also loved to travel.
The Funeral Service will be held by invitation only from the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11 am with Pastor Chris Walker officiating. The funeral will be live webcast at www.yorkfh.com. Interment will take place in the Seymour Memorial Cemetery in the spring. The family wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Gordon McDonald, Dr. Everett Chalmers - Palliative Care and Hospice House Fredericton for the care and compassion received by Lois and her family. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Belgian Horse Association or the Kingsley United Church in lieu of flowers.
