I had the pleasure of meeting this fabulous woman after my very first Canadian friend, Brenda, took me to Perth/Andover for a weekend visit. Dorothy prepared a scrumptious chocolate cake and welcomed me into her home and family with her generous smile and spirit. During my time in Fredericton, Brenda and I would go "home" for the weekend - visiting with Carvel and Colin would ease my homesickness that first year of being away from my home in Guyana. And that was in 1969 - we have gone our separate ways over the years - but always in my heart!
I had the greatest pleasure of visiting Fredericton in 2019 and it was almost as if I had never left - the generosity and warmth of the Crabbe family is something I will never ever forget and will cherish as long as I live.
Another angel has joined my group of angels - your warm smile will always be remembered Dorothy. Rest in peace.

So sorry to read of your loss. I was just thinking about her a few days ago when someone posted a picture of Hall's Jewellery. She helped me pick out Mum's 40th anniversary earrings, which I still have. And we used to have so much fun at DeVerne's. I did see her occasionally in Fredericton and she was always so lovely and her eyes always sparkled with that fun. She blessed many with her friendship.

Seeing Dorothy's smiling face sent memories tumbling down! Dorothy was a neighbour, friend and mentor of my youth. In our small town she was everywhere - in my father's office, in clothing and jewellery stores - her mother was my 7th grade teacher (she also taught my older sister). I went to Expo 67 with their family!
Please know that I am thinking of the family at this time. Hugs & prayers

I will always remember your Mom as the sweetest lady. I truly enjoyed many a conversation sitting at the table with your Mom having a cup of tea and sharing lots of laughs. I have so many fond memories of your mother and her laughter was infectious! I remember the day she told me she was moving to F'ton and I must admit I was a bit disappointed that my chances of running into her again were slim but we did encounter one another a couple of times after her move. Dot always took an interest in each and every one of us kids when we were growing up. We were very fortunate to have such great parents and such wonderful neighbors while growing up. Sending my condolences to you all! Losing your Mom is a hard one so keep your memories close to your heart. I'm sure you all have many wonderful memories of this great lady!.......Sharon (Boyer) Geldart

On behalf of the Cain family I want to extend our deepest sympathy to all of you kids. Dorothy was one of the most generous and fun loving people and she never seemed to age. I recall how kind she was to our cousin Donnie when he was in the York manner and just in general. As she was to everyone. I have let my sisters know of your mom's passing. Kelly Cain
