I will always remember Uncle Jerzy as a kind and thoughtful man with a quick wit. He was well read and knowledgeable in so many areas, always willing to share and discuss ideas, no matter your age. His lifelong thirst for learning, and appreciation for the Arts, has always been an inspiration to me, and to my children. I can remember how much Eric enjoyed looking at all of the books in Uncle Jerzy’s library at their home in Piedmont.
I cherish the lifetime of wonderful memories I have of Uncle Jerzy and Aunt Rosemary. One of Uncle Jerzy’s favourite Polish restaurants, Sir Nicholas, on Roncesvalles Ave. in Toronto, was near our home, and they would often come, bringing Timbits for the children, for a visit after dining there. They were such a loving and generous couple, always so willing to share their time and their love.
Rest In Peace Uncle Jerzy. You and Aunt Rosemary are together again, and will both remain forever in our hearts.❤️❤️

Uncle Jerzy was a kind and always cheerful man. He and I shared a love of animals. When I would visit him he always had a story about his experiences handling draft horses on a farm where he worked when he first arrived in the US.
I learned only a couple of years ago about Uncle Jerzy's war experience but like so many of his generation he didn't speak much about it and just moved on with life..
Rest in peace Uncle Jerzy!

Uncle Jerzy was a joy to be around. He was always smiling, always sharing his knowledge, always interested in everyone and loved nature. His outlook on life was reflected in his amazing paintings and his love of Aunt Rosemary. On our last visit with Uncle Jerzy he told us to keep seeing the beauty in life to be happy. He would know!

I received the news of my Uncle Jerzy's death with great sadness.
I will remember him as a good-hearted man, always cheerful and friendly to others.
Because of the distance between Canada and Poland, my direct meetings with Uncle Jerzy were not frequent, but we kept in touch by letters, by phone and then by email. Jerzy and his wife Rosemary also visited Poland several times for family events such as weddings and funerals.
My father was Jerzy's only brother. He and Jerzy were emotionally closely connected with each other, especially because of common war experiences in the Warsaw Uprising and later. Their fate then went differently. At the end of the war, both of them were in POW camps in Germany. My father's camp was liberated by the Russians, while Jerzy's camp by the Americans. That is why my father returned to Poland, and Jerzy, who was always a man of great fantasy, decided to look for happiness overseas. However, they always maintained frequent correspondence contact. Jerzy never forgot Poland, he did not forget the language, he was always interested in history and current events in Poland, especially in Warsaw. Despite the fact that Canada was his second homeland, he is also still a great Warsaw patriot.
Rest In Peace, Uncle Jerzy.
On the day of Uncle Jerzy's funeral, a Mass for his soul will be celebrated in his former parish church, St. Alexander in Warsaw, where Jerzy was baptized (hence his middle name Aleksander).

Piotr, thank you for the kind remembrance of Uncle Jerzy. I have learned a lot about my uncle (in law) from your post. A lot that I did not know. As a child you sometimes do not think to ask your family about their interesting history. I regret that. My father was Rosemary's brother.
As children we visited with Jerzy and Rosemary annually in the summer at their beautiful home in the Laurentians, Quebec. There was always plenty of food and interesting conversation.
