GIBBARD, JOHN “JACK” CHARLES

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of John “Jack” Charles Gibbard of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Gail (Seymour) Gibbard which occurred on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on August 11, 1938 in Toronto, ON, he was the son of the late Charles and Edith (Clark) Gibbard. He worked as a long distance trucker with North American Van Lines and loved travelling the open road.

 

Jack is survived by his daughters, Teresa MacNeil (Gary) of Ontario and Debra Ann Gibbard of Quebec; son, John Gibbard of Ontario; step children, Angela Niles, Carole Lynda Niles and Mark Niles; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Beamish (Eric) of Ontario; brother, Cameron Gibbard of Ontario; sister in law, Lynn McCann (Graham) of Fredericton, NB; extended family and friends; special friends, Graham McCann, Phil Buckingham and Larry Sleep.  In addition to his parents and wife, Jack was predeceased by his brothers, William and Thomas Gibbard; sisters in law, Betty Ferris, Anna Perley, and brother in law, Ed Perley.

 

There will be a Graveside Service at Douglas Rural Cemetery to be held and announced at a later date. A special thank you to Betty MacNeil for her years of friendship and help, and to the staff at the Veteran’s Health Unit and 4SW, especially Greg and Amber.  For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
