Obituary of Mary Sparkes

Sparkes, Mary Jessie The passing of Mary “Jessie” Sparkes of Cross Creek, NB, wife of the late John “Jack” Sparkes occurred on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital at the age of 91 years. Born on January 2, 1922 in Ward Settlement, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Winnifred (Keenan) Foreman. Jessie was a member of the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Stanley, NB and the CWL; she was also a member of the Golden Age Society and the Ward Settlement Institute. Jessie cherished her family, especially her nine grandchildren. Jessie is survived by her son, Erice Foreman (Sheila) of Stanley, NB; eight grandchildren, Kathy LeBlanc (Ray), Larry Foreman (Michelle), Angela McNeil (Mark), Eric Foreman, Marty Foreman (Coleen), Robert Flynn (Shelley), David Flynn (Heidi) and Theresa Varenholt (Paul); 22 great grandchildren; sister, Helen Mudge of Saint John, NB; son in law, Patrick Flynn; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon (Sparkes) Flynn; grandson, John Flynn; sisters, Phyllis Pugh, Elsie Hickey and Glenna DiCarlo; brothers, Arthur, John and infant Gerald; chosen brother/nephew, Osbourne. Visitation will take place in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Stanley, NB on Monday, May 6, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Mass will take place at the church on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 2 pm with Father Aaron Knox as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service will be Robert Flynn, David Flynn, Larry Foreman, Eric Foreman and Marty Foreman. Interment will take place in Cross Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
