Lynwood, after leaving the family farm located in Cardigan, N.B. in 1948 started employment with Ashley Colter Ltd, Diamond Construction and Western Construction Company all owned by Ashley Colter. He spent from 1951 – 1955, on and off, working in Newfoundland helping to build the Trans Canada Hwy. Lynwood enjoyed being at the old family farm in Cardigan where his ancestors were granted land and settled from Wales in 1819. When he was able, he would attend services at the Cardigan United Church and the Welsh Society Church at Cardigan. He is a member of the Central New Brunswick Welsh Society.
