Obituary of Bertha Hunter
The passing of Bertha Elizabeth Hunter of Oromocto, wife of Vincent Hunter, occurred on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 23, 1938 in Hayesville, NB, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Lillian (Palmer) Hunter. Bertha had previously worked in the kitchen at DND. She was a member of the United Church of Canada.
Besides her husband, Bertha is survived by her daughters, Mona Fairbairn (Dean) of Fredericton, NB and Cynthia Jenkins (Shawn) of Geary, NB; her son, Aubrey Hunter (Beverly) of Geary, NB; four grandchildren, Kirk Jonah and Charlene Hunter both of Geary, NB, Andrea Hunter of Oromocto, NB and Lisa Green of Fredericton, NB; two great grandchildren, Braydan and Maria; one sister, Camella Smith (Peter) of Fredericton, NB; three brothers, Harold, Lewis (Jean) and Vincent (Barbara) all of Astle, NB; sister in law, Kathy Hunter of Ludlow, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Ethel Allen (Willie) and Mary Brown; brother, Roy and sister in law, Shyanne Hunter.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 2 pm with Mr. Wally Ellis DLM officiating. Interment will take place in the Astle Community Cemetery at a later date.
