Obituary of Christina Harris

The passing of Christina Bell Harris of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Gilbert Harris occurred on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 3, 1922 in Glasgow, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Bell) McNeilage. She was a member of the Woman’s Land Army in Great Britain during WWII. Christina was a volunteer with Red Cross and also a member of the War Brides Association. Christina is survived by her daughter, Judy Whittaker (Don) of Toronto, ON; son, Scott Harris of Roberts Creek, BC and cousin, Mary Sergeant (Harry) of Scotland. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her aunt and uncle, Chris and John Reid and cousin, Jean (Reid) Ford. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 2-4 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, NB at a later date.
