Obituary of Beverley O'Hara

The passing of Beverley Ann “Bev” O’Hara of Noonan, NB, wife of Gerald G. O’Hara occurred on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 28, 1937 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late W. George and Elizabeth (Simms) Burge. Bev took great joy in spending time with her three granddaughters. For over 45 years, Bev was involved in the Girl Guides of Canada in numerous roles and a member of the Trefoil Guild. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and had many hobbies such as: bowling, square dancing, reading, gardening, needlepoint, swimming, and playing the piano. She certainly had a passion for sewing and knitting and she created many wonderful gifts for her family and friends. In addition to her husband, Bev is survived by her four daughters, Deborah O’Hara (Gus) of Douglas, NB, Susan Blizzard (Richard) of Quispamsis, NB, Heather Brannon (Philip) of Noonan, NB and Maureen O’Hara of Noonan, NB; granddaughters, Stephanie, Emily and Natalie; sister, Carol Hatfield (Brian) of Sarnia, ON; brother, James Burge (Theresa) of Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Geraldine England (Ken) of Winnipeg, MB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her step mother, Doris Burge and brother, Richard Burge. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 2-4 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Nashwaaksis United Church on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. J. D. Kennedy officiating. Honourary Pallbearers for the service will be Reta Wilkinson, Marilyn Harding, Jeanie Whitehead and Betty Hinchey. Reception will follow in the church hall. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Girl Guides of Canada, Nashwaaksis United Church, Chalmers Hospital Foundation (ICU) or the charity of the donor’s choice.
