Obituary of Frances Stewart

It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of Frances Goldena (Munn) Stewart of Priceville, NB, wife of loving husband, Todd Stewart which occurred on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born on May 26, 1928 in Priceville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Munn and Mary (Price) Munn. She was a stay at home mom who raised a family of five, who she loved very much. No matter when you came in the house, she was cooking, baking or cleaning. Frances was known for feeding everyone who came to visit. They would not be in the house very long and she would be saying; “would you like a lunch”, and the next thing you knew the table was set. No one ever left the house without taking a loaf of bread, cookies or something with them. She loved her family very much and she looked forward to family gatherings, especially in the summer or at Christmas. She loved her grandkids dearly. Even when she did not feel like doing anything, she still wanted to feed them. She was a member of the McNamee Pentecostal Assembly. She was a great Christian lady and one of her joys in life was reading her bible, which she did every day and she prayed faithfully. Mom had a wonderful roommate at the nursing home, Cappy. Our families were a great support to each other, one daughter, Bertha, who we referred to as our earthly angel, was a great help to our family by giving gentle, loving care to mom when we could not be at the home. In addition to her husband of 62 years, Frances is survived by her daughters, Eileen (Bob) Lyons of Fredericton, Nilah (Tom) Stewart-Lyver of Priceville, Mary (Billy) Gilks of Blissfield and Paulette Stewart of Priceville; son, Larry (Ann) Stewart of Priceville; seven grandchildren, Perena TeLiendret (Erik), Luke Price, Carolyn Horvath (Norbert), Sarah Gilks (Mike), Kristen Stewart, Joseph Stewart and Isabella Stewart; one great-grandchild, Josie Horvath; sister, Vesta Price of Priceville; brother-in-law, Lawney (Betty) Price of Priceville; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Henry (Marg) Munn, Burt (Hazel) Munn and Alex (Isabel) Munn; sisters, Iretta Storey-Munn (first husband Ken and second husband Percy) and Mabel (Magnus) Price; brothers-in-law, Clement Price and Donald (Helen) Stewart; sister-in-law, Coleen (Albert) Price. Visitation will take place at McNamee Pentecostal Assembly on Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from the church on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 2 pm with Pastor Allison Cromwell officiating. Interment will be in McNamee Pentecostal Cemetery in Porter Cove at a later date. We would like to thank the staff at the New Brunswick Central Nursing Home for the great care and support they gave our mom during her time at the home. We would like to thank the staff of 4 SW for taking great care of our mother during her time in the hospital.
