Gilmore, Douglas Floyd
The passing of Douglas Floyd Gilmore occurred on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 26, 1936 in Ward Settlement, NB he was the son of the late Bertram Douglas Gilmore and Hazel Jean (Sands) Gilmore. Doug spent his life as a milkman for Capital Co-Op Dairy and retired in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannine (Legace) Gilmore; two step-daughters, Marjolaine MacPherson (Malcolm) and Francine McCann (Murray); two step-granddaughters, Tina Dube and Holly Dicks (Trenton).
Also survived by sisters, Doris Dorcas (Vernon), Frances Moore (Brian), Dianne McManus (Ralph); brothers, Carl, Gerald (Lavona), Glendon, Brian (Tressa), Ivan (Lisa); several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his mother and father; brothers, Robert Angus and Frederick William; infant sister, Elizabeth Anne; niece, Margaret (Dorcas) Flynn; nephews, Roger Moore and Shane Gilmore.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 2 pm with Mr. Wally Ellis (DLM) officiating. Interment will take place at Hillcrest United Church Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Special thanks to the Drs., Nurses and Staff of the ICU at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for their care and compassion over the past few weeks.
