Obituary of Winnifred Hislop

The passing of Winnifred “Winnie” Agnes (Burgoyne), wife of David G. Hislop, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Monday, February 11, 2013 at her home. Born on June 25, 1940 in New Market, NB, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Muriel (Chessie) Burgoyne. Winnie was retired from People’s Jewellers. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Phillip Savage (Debbie) of BC, Jim Savage (Donna) of ON and Brian Savage (Natasha) of ON; step-daughters, Catherine Potts of Toronto, ON and Carolyn Potts (Rick) of Port Moody, BC; grandchildren, Amanda, Terie, Jessica, Sabrina, Clint and Samantha Savage; step grandchildren, Ainna, Kevin and Connor Potts; sister, Leona Murphy (Robert) of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Louis Burgoyne of New Market, NB and Alton Burgoyne of Pembrooke, ON; Annette Savage, the mother of Sabrina and Jessica; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her grandson, Jeremy. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2 pm with Father John Jennings officiating. Interment will take place at Hermitage Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Fredericton SPCA.
