Obituary of Albert B. Douglas
Al passed away peacefully at the Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, January 19, 2013 in his 88th year. He is survived by his sister, Emmy Lou (Jenkins) and his brother, Alan of PEI and many nieces and nephews. His wife, Ernestine Martin, predeceased him (in 2002) as did his parents J. Lester and Mabel Douglas. He was born in Charlottetown, PEI and served in the RCAF during the Second World War. After the war he attended Prince of Wales College, Charlottetown, where he excelled in sports; a love which he continued as he got older. He especially loved golf, downhill skiing and curling and the many friends he made engaging in these sports. In his youth he played in the Downtowners dance band among others and the RECCE military band as a percussionist. His family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Veterans Health Unit for their loving care of Al, and to his many friends for their support.
