Obituary of Rina Cyr

The passing of Rina Cyr of Fredericton, NB, wife of Clarence V. Landry occurred on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the York Family Care Center, Fredericton, NB. Born on April 14, 1937 in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, NB, she was the daughter of the late Yvon and Germaine (Desjardins) Cyr. She taught grades one and two during most of her career, retiring from teaching in 1992. Rina had a love for travelling and reading, self-discovery and spiritual growth. Her journey through life was suddenly interrupted in 2006 when she suffered a brain aneurism. Although afflicted by such trauma, her wonderful and loving spirit continued to shine through her magnificent smile which greeted you every time you had the privilege to visit her. In addition to her husband, Clarence, Rina is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Jackie) Page, of Ste-Anne-de-Madawaska, NB; grandchildren, Samuel and Zacharie; and five siblings namely; Denis (Fernande) of Saint John, NB, Jacques (Fernande) of Drummond, NB, Denise Gagnon (Gérald Clavet) of Edmundston, NB., Marcel (Francine) of Bristol, Connecticut and Paul (Denise) of Edmundston, NB and several nieces and nephews. Rina was further blessed by her additional family at the Birch Grove Unit of the York Family Care Center, to whom we are forever thankful for their wonderful and loving care during her stay there. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on the 27th day of December 2012 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Ste-Anne-des-Pays-Bas Roman Catholic Church, Fredericton, NB on the 28th day of December 2012 at 12 :00 pm with Father Donald Savoie as celebrant. Interment will be in Notre-Dame –de-Lourdes, Madawaska, at a later date.
