Obituary of Barbara Robichaud
Robichaud, Barbara Eileen
October 17, 1934 – December 14, 2012
Barbara Eileen (Wilcox) Robichaud, wife of the late Reginald Robichaud (RCR), leaves behind many family and friends who will forever cherish her part in their lives. She was the anchor for our family, showing us how to always live in the moment with both kindness and respect. She was a champion for the underdog. Barbara believed in moderation in most things – but not in love for her family. She was active in our day to day lives and wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. She nipped at our heels when we strayed, and provided a sanctuary for all of us to come back to. She was a good mother. A small town girl from a large family in St. George, NB, she travelled the world; to London, Ontario to marry our Dad, then with him wherever his military career took us. From Ipperwash to the south of France, she brought that love of travel to her retirement years – Greece, Portugal and Costa Rica were special to her. Many people in Fredericton North will remember her as the little woman who walked everywhere – in good weather and bad. She embraced belly dancing, technology, quilting, cards and knitting.
Barbara was predeceased by her son, Joe, and is survived by Ramona (Terry), John (Melanie) and Ronald (Trudy), 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be held on Wed December 19, at 1100h at York Funeral Home. Donations may be made to www.ovariancanada.org Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
