Obituary of Shirley Storey
The passing of Shirley Lynn Storey of Nashwaak Bridge, NB, wife of David Storey occurred on Thursday, December 6, 2012. Her seven year battle with cancer ended at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born March 15, 1962 in Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of Eliard and Elsie (Stewart) Breau.
In addition to her parents and husband of 17 years, Shirley is survived by her stepsons, Mark (Karen) Storey, Burton and Brian (Jody) Storey, Kingston Pennisula; grandsons David and MacKenzie, granddaughters, Raven and Robin; six sisters and four brothers: Kathy (Phil) MacDonald, Blairmore, AB, Joyce (Lawrence) White, Burtt’s Corner, Patsy (Alvin) Conroy, Astle, Jim (Marilyn) Breau, Nashwaak Bridge, Peter (Donna) Breau, English Settlement, Elizabeth Anderson (Jim Gullison), English Settlement, Diane (Dale) Wall, Stanley, Susan (David) Currie, Stanley, Carl (Dea) Breau, Killarney Road and Richard Breau, Fredericton; Godson Justin Breau, Fredericton and several other much loved nieces and nephews; close friend, Mary-Ellen Somerville, who were always in her heart. She was predeceased by brother-in-law, Ardie Anderson.
She treasured most her time with family, especially our campfires and rummoli with the girls. She was a lifetime member of the Lord Beaverbrook Legion, Branch #80, Nashwaak Bridge, where she played bingo and shared good times with her friends. She was employed with the Province of NB for 25 years. Shirley felt blessed to have so many angels on earth who cared for her, and was guided by two special angels, Gram and Ardie during her low days.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon McLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Nashwaak Bridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the Lord Beaverbrook Legion, Branch #80 would be appreciated. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
