Obituary of Lewis Jack
Lewis Jack of Fredericton passed away, at the Veteran’s Health Unit on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at the age of 87. Lewis is survived by his wife, Greta (nee Palmer); his children, Linda and her husband, Pat Kennedy of London, ON; Brian and his wife Marilyn of Mt. Pleasant, ON and Brenda and her husband, Bev Embleton of Fredericton. Also survived by his grandchildren, Angie Baresich (Justin), Jeffrey Hicks (Krista), Alicia McElroy (Owen), Rob Hicks, Alex Jack (Ann), Jennifer Jack (Dan), Stephanie Jack (Kelsey), Carolyn Stevenson (Matthew), Joanne Perkins (Leigh) and Laura Embleton (Jesse); step grandchildren, Rosemary and Gloria Hogan; 19 great grandchildren.
Lewis was born and lived most of his life in and near Quebec City. He served overseas in World War II and following his service was a farmer and successful business man. He also served his community as Mayor of Valcartier Village, QC for 17 years. He was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 1 pm followed by a funeral service at 2 pm with Rev. Doug Blaikie officiating.
