Obituary of John Speight

Speight, John Edward The passing of John Edward Speight of Maugerville, NB, husband of Helen (Nickerson) Speight occurred on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at home. Born on September 1, 1936 in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Edward and Jeanne (Newroth) Speight. John was the owner and operator of John’s RV repair since 1994. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 and Green Acres Campground (his beloved getaway). John enjoyed RVing, hunting, fishing, loved to read and his dogs. He took much pride in the work he did. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his daughters, Sandra Fletcher (Gary Kennedy) and Heather Speight; son, Brian Speight (Andrea); grandchildren, Amy Speight, Jessica Speight, Courtney Taylor and Katie Taylor; several nieces and nephews; special cousin, Patricia Jenkins. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Honourary Pallbearers for the service will be Sheldon Bright, Derek Knox, Kevin Fowler, Carmen Albright, Harold Morehouse and Dale Grey. Interment will take place in Maugerville Community Cemetery.
