Obituary of Doris Belding
Doris “Nanny” Althea Belding passed away on Wednesday, August 08, 2012 at the Oromocto Public Hospital, after a short courageous battle with cancer. Born in St. John, NB on December 23, 1930 she was the daughter of the late George and Eva Raymond. She was married 49 years and was predeceased by her husband Vernon in 2000. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a Red Cross Homemaker for 11 years. Doris was an avid bingo player, loved her dog Radar and enjoyed traveling.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Pam Sharpe; grandchildren, Angela Sprague (Adam), Brent Sharpe (Lorrie), Mindy Thornton (Mark) and Kim Sharpe (Adam); great grandchildren Ashley, Alyssa, William, Ava, Katie and Kaitlyn; sister, Mildred Galloway; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents Doris was predeceased by her sister Gladys and her brothers Malcolm and Daryl.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 1 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place at Sunny Bank Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton SPCA, New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
