Obituary of Hazel Currie
The passing of Hazel Elizabeth “Betty” Currie of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Otis Phillip Currie, occurred on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 28, 1914 in Aroostook Junction, NB, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Beulah (Grant) True. Betty was a member of the Morning Gate Church Inc. in Fredericton and was also a member of the Kingsley Senior Citizen’s.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Doris Burtt of Fredericton; sons David Currie (Margaret) of Fredericton and Paul Currie (Florence) of Nashwaak Bridge; daughter-in-law, Marlene Currie of Fredericton; nine grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; sister, Doris Mongomery of Woodstock; brother, Herman True of Fredericton; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Betty was predeceased by her son, Phillip Wayne Currie and brother, Grant True.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive., Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 2pm with Pastor Scott Wood officiating and Rev. Dr. Brad Little assisting. Interment will take place in Seymour Memorial Cemetery.
