Obituary of Theresa Thomas

The passing of Theresa Margaret Thomas of Fredericton, NB, wife of Wendell Thomas occurred on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at her home. Born on July 2, 1936 in Maugerville, NB, she was the daughter of Charles and Constance (Ladd) Sheilds. Theresa was active with Nashwaaksis United Church for over 55 years. She and her husband owned and operated Wendell Thomas & Sons, where she was the secretary and bookkeeper. Theresa loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers, was an excellent cook and had a heart of gold. In addition to her husband of 55 years, Theresa is survived by her children, Deborah Thomas (Zoran) of Saint John, Edward Thomas (Andrea) of Carlisle Road, Beverley Bolton (David) of McLeod Hill, Michael Thomas (Nancy) of Kansas City, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Joshua Thomas (Julie), Amanda Bloom (Bill), Dusty McSorley (Nicole), Billy Joe Thomas (Jensen), Abby Hallett (Joel), Stephen Thomas, Jesse McSorley, Elisabeth Thomas, Jacob Thomas, Becky Thomas and Peter Thomas; seven great grandchildren, Jessica and Emily Thomas, Alivia and Georgia Bloom , Madden and Presley Hallett and Owen McSorley; sisters, Clara Lenentine of Kingsley, NB, Josie McCann of Douglas, NB and Laverne Doak (Dick) of Maugerville, NB; sister-in-law, Betty Thomas of Cardigan, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Phyllis Reilly and Mary Brewster; sister-in-law, Shirley Thomas and brother-in-laws, Glenwood Thomas, Lorne Lenentine and Greg McCann. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. J. D. Kennedy officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be her grandchildren. Interment will take place in Cardigan United Church Cemetery.
