Obituary of Lois Currie
The passing of Lois Alberta (Fraser) Currie, of Nashwaak Bridge, NB, wife of Allan Currie, occurred on Sunday, July 08, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born on January 5, 1949 in Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of Otto “Ottie” Fraser and the late Vera (Fairley) Fraser. Lois worked as a nurse, but in recent years, she was a Communication Clerk all at Pine Grove Nursing Home, until her retirement in 2011. She was an active member of South Portage Baptist Bible Church. She taught Sunday school and was involved with the Awana Program. In her spare time, she enjoyed relaxing at Grand Lake at the family’s cottage. There were numerous family gatherings in which Lois had a big part in organizing; her passion was spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband of 43 years, Lois is survived by her children, Andrew Currie (Lisa) of Temperance Vale, NB, Joanne Williams (Scott) of McLeod Hill, NB and Mark Currie of Fredericton, NB; loving grandchildren, Alexandria, Jacob, and Madison Currie, Taylor, Micah and Tori Williams; siblings, Wayne Fraser (Faye) of Quispamsis, NB and Lynn Price of Nashwaak Bridge, NB; sister-in-law, Susan Wilson (Bob); brother-in-law, David Currie (Susan); nieces and nephews, Brent, Craig (Christie) and Trevor Fraser, Troy Price (Janice), Angela Hawkins (Bob), Gina Wallace (Steve) and Suzanne Oldford (Jon). Besides her mother, Lois was predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Willis Price and Paul Currie; niece-in-law, Dana Fraser.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 2 pm with Pastor Pat McAloon officiating and Rev. Matthew Little assisting. Interment will take place in Nashwaak Bridge Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the New Brunswick Lung Association.
