Obituary of John Sherwood

The passing of John Alexander Sherwood, husband of the late Elsie Mae (Logan) Sherwood occurred on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the York Care Centre. Born on November 28, 1925 in Stanley, NB, he was the son of the late Eldon and Lena (MacBean) Sherwood. He worked as an orderly at the VPH and DECRH for 33 years. John was survived by three sons, Eldon Sherwood and friend, Shirley Lamey of Stanley, NB, Paul Sherwood (Diana) of Nasonworth, NB and Eric Sherwood (Annette) of Nasonworth, NB; daughter, Darlene Sherwood of Fredericton, NB; three grandchildren Greg (Susan), Brad (Carrie-Lynn) and Johnathan; two great grandchildren, William and Landyn; brother, Otto “Ted” Sherwood of Fredericton, NB; three sisters, Noreen Dorcas of Fredericton, NB, Doris Pinnock of Stanley, NB and Jessie Schwartz (Herb) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, John was predeceased by his granddaughter, Janet Lee Sherwood. Visitation will take place Friday, June 29, 2012 at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 3 pm with the Rev. Dr. Barry Craig officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery.
